CEC urges DFIs to engage power developers over financing

THE Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) has urged Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to engage power developers to come up with better ways of financing projects to reduce dependence on sovereign guarantees.
The company also stated Zambia was making strides in increasing renewable energy uptake by putting in place policy measures to attract investments.
CEC managing director, Owen Silavwe said this during a panel discussion on ‘Integrating Solar and Wind into the Grid” at the Africa Energy Forum in Brussels, Belgium last week.
