CEC to set up 66KV power line from Dangote to Lonshi Mine

THE Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) proposes to set up a 66 kilovolt electricity transmission line from Dangote substation to Lonshi Mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The purpose of the transmission line is to enable the company to supply Lonsh Mine with power for its mining operations.
CEC stated in the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) submitted to the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) that the transmission line would span a distance of 26.8 Kilometers (KM).
It stated that 23 kilometers would be in Zambia and 3.8 km would be on the DRC side of the international border.
