RTSA to motorists: “We’ll SMS you”

THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has introduced a new channel of communication with traffic offenders through a bulk Short Messaging System (SMS).
RTSA developed an automated application that would be generating messages to motor vehicle owners that had been suspended on the agency’s e-ZamTIS for various traffic violations.
RTSA public relations manager Mukela Mangolwa said in a statement yesterday that the messages would serve as reminders for traffic offenders to report to the RTSA offices to answer to traffic offence charges or for onward processing for prosecution through the courts of law.
