ZAMBIAN players have started their campaign brightly at the on-going African Individual Championship in Nigeria after all the four won their opening matches.
International Master (IM) Richmond Phiri set the ball rolling for Zambia when he humbled South Sudan’s Peter Mangang before veteran Fide Master (FM) Nase Lungu edged Alfred Chimthere of Malawi.
Timothy ‘Komodo’ Kabwe picked a victory on board right over Nigeria’s Cephas Clinton as FM Prince Mulenga maintained the momentum by beating Komi Nukunu of Togo to seal a clean sweep in round one.
