DIRECTOR of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri has filed for the forfeiture of a jet, US$5.6 million worth of gold brass pellets and other items seized during a foiled gold smuggling case at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka in August, this year.
Mr Phiri submitted before the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, that Global Express T7 WSS Jet, US$5, 697, 602 worth of pieces of brass pellets weighing 127.28 kilogrammes, five pistols with 126 rounds of ammunition, 11 pistol magazines, a drilling machine and a Central Processing Unit were tainted property and should be forfeited to the State.
