THE Zambia men’s and women’s hockey teams yesterday suffered setbacks in their quest to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games following defeats in their opening matches at the African qualifying tournament in South Africa.
The women’s team suffered a 4-0 thumping to Kenya with the men’s team tumbled 3-1 to Ghana.
In the women’s game, the Kenyans dominated the entire game scoring through a Flavan Mutiva’s brace before Lucy Wangeci and Maureen Okumu added their names on the scores list to inspire their side to an emphatic victory.
