THE Zambia Defence Forces (ZDF) has with immediate effect embarked on a national irrigation exercise to cushion the eff ects of the drought.
Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma announced the responsibilities given to the three security wings, Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force and Zambia National Service at Press briefing in Lusaka yesterday.
He also directed the security wings to formulate a quick but robust irrigation strategy for the ministry to lobby for more funding following President Hakainde Hichilema’s indication that the 2024 National Budget would be realigned to effectively respond to the national disaster.
