THE Irish government has committed more than K8 million support to Zambia to cushion it from the effects of the drought that the country has experienced in the current rainy season.
Visiting Ireland Housing, Local Government and Heritage Minister Darragh O’brien said the K8 million (€300,000) drought relief support to Zambia would be offered through the World Food Programme.
Mr O’brien said this before he and acting Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the renewal of the Political Consultation Forum between the Zambian and Irish governments in Lusaka yesterday.
