Musokotwane urges ZRA on VAT

FINANCE and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane has urged the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to attain the average Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of 28 percent from the current 23 percent contribution to the national revenue.
Dr Musokotwane says the revenue from VAT has been lower at 23 per cent in the last four years despite taxes being a primary source of revenue for the government to provide essential public services.
He said it was possible for Zambia to attain the average VAT revenue contribution of total revenue contribution of 28 per cent for Africa.
