ZRA imposes 16 p.c. VAT on digital economy

THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has imposed a 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) rate on all transactions made by non-resident electronic service providers effective April 1, 2024.
The authority says this development is a step forward towards collecting taxes from the digital economy.
ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda said VAT would be levied on all cross-border electronic services that will be supplied to all resident consumers in Zambia.
