PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has directed the Food Reserves Agency (FRA) to pay the local maize suppliers before importing so that the money can circulate in the economy.
Mr Hichilema also expressed displeasure with the manner relief food was being distributed at the expense of many people in need.
Speaking when he visited Amatheon Agri Farms in Mumbwa District yesterday, President Hichilema said he was concerned that FRA continued to delay payments even after changing the payment system which used to take more than six months to pay the farmers.
