ZAMBIA’s ranking as one of the 10 African countries whose Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected to grow faster in 2025, is not a mere rhetoric but is derived from hard work by the New Dawn Government in the past few years, a senior economist has said.
The ranking is from the latest world economic output report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) released at the weekend, with Zambia’s GDP projected to grow at 6.6 percent this year. Noel Nkhoma, who is National Roads Fund Agency (NRFA) board chairperson and also Development Board Zambia (DBZ) chairperson, said in an interview that the ranking was an indication that the interventions put in place by President Hakainde Hichilema and the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration were bearing fruit.
