BRAZILIAN-based defender Benson Sakala is among the more than 40 players that have been summoned for the Zambia Under-20 soccer team that goes into camp ahead of the Senegal 2015 Africa Youth Championship qualifiers.

Zambia is on bye in the preliminary round and will play the winner between Namibia and Mozambique in the first round of qualifiers in May.

According to a statement released by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications manager Nkweto Tembwe, assistant coach Bilton Musonda has summoned a blend of young players from various clubs dotted across the country with an exception of Sakala, who is from Legiao FC in Brazil.

And team manager Daniel Jere has urged those called up to report for camp on time when the team convenes at the FAZ technical centre in Lusaka tomorrow.

The squad include five goalkeepers Godfrey Silavwe (Lusaka Tigers), Mangani Banda (Zanaco), James Simutanda (Konkola Blades), Lawrence Mulenga (Kabwe Warriors), and Dominic Nzala (Power Dynamos).

Defenders are Timothy Sakala (Young Zanaco), Davy Mwaba (Buffalos), Boyd Mukandawire (Napsa), Lawrence Mwenga (K Stars), Simon Tembo (Kabwe Warriors), Paul Phiri, Kayawe Kapota (Kafue Celtics, Paul Katema and Benedict Chepeshi (Red Arrows), Peter Banda (Zanaco), Ulia Phiri (Nkwazi), Jansen Chileshe (Young Power Dynamos), Kenneth Mwenya (Choma Cutters), and Benson Sakala of Legiao FC Brazil.

Midfielders that have been given the nod are Mofya Lwandamina (indeni), Godfrey Ngwenya, Langson Mbewe (Kabwe Warriors), George Mandu, Ackim Mumba (Arrows), Spencer Sautu (Green Eagles), Charles Zulu (Zanaco), Austin Banda, Shadreck Chimanya (Nchanga Rangers), Kingsley Mukuka (Kafue Celtics), Jeff Banda (Nkwazi), Emmanuel Habasimbi (Lusaka Dynamos), Vicson Mwale (Airport Warriors), Juma Mutale (Kalulushi Modern Stars), Evans Bwembya (Konkola Blades), Lubambo Musonda (Power Dynamos) and Collins Sikombe (Malaiti Rangers).

Strikers include Ronald Chibwe (Konkola Mine Police), Saith Sakala (Napsa stars), Jonathan Manongo (Gomes), Patrick Ngoma, Gabriel Mwendalubi (Red Arrows, Dave Daka (Zanaco), Mike Katiba (Kalulushi Modern stars) and Friday Samu (Green Buffalos).
