My appeal is to Chingola Municipal Council to hasten the pace at which developmental projects in the district are being carried out.

There is a lot to be done to reclaim our lost glory of being the cleanest town in Zambia.

I am wondering why up to now, for instance the Chingola Cemetery toilets/shower building is not complete, for use by the public.

It is like works have stalled there. Chikola Shopping Complex is another eyesore, one may need to use a canoe when it is raining to do some shopping. Just the face of it is unbearable.

Thieves have continued terrorising the complex in the night due to lack of a police post in the area, the latest breaking being two weeks ago.

I feel that the community, if engaged by the council, can help to come up with solutions to this once beautiful township but that has to start with an initiative by one person.

The Government is working through councils in coming up with community development so that councils can ensure they play their role.

Let us have practical solutions not paper solutions. As a resident I know if given land, we can contribute to the construction of a police post within the shortest possible of time, therefore helping the Government in curbing crime.

Wisdom Muyunda,
CHINGOLA
