THE Copperbelt Patriotic Front (PF) provincial leadership is disappointed with some Members of Parliament’s failure to visit their constituencies.
Provincial chairperson Sturdy Mwale said MPs in the province were failing to visit their constituencies and addressing challenges faced by the electorate at grassroots levels.
Mr Mwale was speaking during a district meeting held at the Kitwe Little Theatre yesterday where all elected provincial executive members ushered into office on February 8 this year in Ndola were introduced.
He said President Michael Sata and party supporters were highly expectant of the MPs to perform and ensure that members benefited from programmes such as the youth and women empowerment funds.
Mr Mwale said MPs should not be in the forefront of forming parallel structures but should embrace all members, including those at ward and branch levels.
And PF Member of the Central Committee Willie Nsanda, who was at the function to welcome defectors from other political parties that included MMD and UPND, urged members to establish contacts with their elected leaders.
And Acting district chairman Alfred Kaira said members should unite in taking the party to greater heights.
He further appealed for the office of the District Commissioner, the Mayor and District party officials to work together for a unity of purpose.
