WHAT heart-warming news to hear that the Samfya-Lubwe-Kasaba road will finally be upgraded (Times of Zambia, March 29, 2014)!
The area, which has huge potential for tourism, has not been exploited due to inaccessibility resulting from the poor roads network.
It is true the government has moved to fulfill its 2011 campaign promises by embarking on upgrading the road.
With the Mwanawasa Bridge at Chembe, and the construction of the Mokambo-Chembe road, which is in progress, Luapula province will be very accessible when all these projects are completed.
It is worth noting that the access road from Serenje to Musaila, joining the Samfya-Mansa road, has already been rehabilitated.
So, which ever direction one wants to travel to Luapula, either through Democratic Republic of Congo, or through Tuta road, the roads will be very good.
However, may I take this opportunity to thank the Patriotic Front Government for the development as the province will now be easy to access?
Please continue to work hard for the people. We have high hopes for our country.
