By JULIUS PHIRI-
SECRETARY to the Cabinet Rowland Msiska has called for more investment in the livestock sector.
Dr Msiska said when he paid a courtesy call on Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Dr Chileshe Mulenga in Chipata yesterday that there was need to invest more in the livestock sector because it was one of the major economic prospects of the country.
“There is need to invest in the livestock sector because it is one of the major drivers of the economy of the country,” Dr Msiska said.
He said there also need for various Government officials drawn from ministries inspecting infrastructure developments to cut across all the projects including the livestock sector.
Dr Msiska said it was sad that some Government officials were just visiting specific projects related to their ministry instead of all projects.
He said there was need to maintain integrity in Government institutions if the country was to achieve sustainable development.
Dr Msiska said integrity was at the centre of Government’s efforts to transform the public service in Zambia.
Dr Mulenga said a number of projects were being undertaken in the province.
