By GRACE CHAILE – WESLEY Mondo is believed to have been re-appointed coach for the MTN-FAZ Premier League side, Kabwe Warriors barely days after his engagement was revoked.

Mondo was picked ahead of the former Warriors coaches Mohammed Fathy and Levy Chabala, and former Roan United trainer Paul Mulenga by the Zambia Railways Limited and Kabwe Warriors Football Club panel that sat yesterday.

He was handed a two-year contract replacing coach Happy Sichikolo, who was relegated to the junior teams and was replaced by player-coach Chintu Kampamba towards the end of last season.

According to sources at the club, Mondo, who coached Warriors in 2009, is expected to be unveiled next upon completion of all necessary formalities with the club sponsors, Zambia Railways.

Mondo, who had his appointment revoked hours later after his appointment on Friday by the Zambia Railways board that insisted on interviewing the coach, would be assisted by Kampamba and Peter Mwila.

Prior to this appointment, Mondo last coached National Assembly before he was fired last season and has also been at the helm of City of Lusaka, Lusaka Dynamos and Kalulushi Modern Stars.

On the international scene, Mondo guided Township Rollers to the Botswana league title in 2011, a feat that came after he had earlier finished in second position with Mochudi Centre Chiefs in his first season.

Mondo faces the huge task of taking fortunes around for the 1987 Zambian League champions who spent good part of last season fighting relegation but managed to finish 10th on the log with 40 points.
