THE Ndola Central Hospital (NCH) will soon commission the mammography, a breast cancer screening machine, the first of its kind at the institution.
NCH public relations officer Sheona Chalimbana said works on the room to house the mammography, machine used for screening and diagnosis of one the world’s killer diseases had been completed.
Ms Chalimbana said the equipment would soon be installed at the hospital in readiness for commissioning.
“Works have already been completed on the room where equipment will be stationed, we shall soon commission it,” she said.
Ms Chalimbana said the hospital had also received a CT scan from the Ministry of Health which would also be stationed at the same hospital.
She said the CT scan would be commissioned next month end after completion of the works where it would be installed.
NCH is a referral centre and caters for patients from the entire Copperbelt, Luapula, Northern, North Western and Muchinga provinces.
