Owner of stolen boat takes church to task

A WATER vessel worth K12,000 has been stolen at Mwenso wansoka Catholic Church of Santa Maria Parish in Chilubi District in Northern Province.
The owner of the boat has decided to lock the church and vowed not to open it until the church gives him back his boat. Church programmes have been disrupted.
Congregation chairperson, Patrick Mwape, revealed the theft in Chilubi District yesterday.
Mr Mwape said recently, the congregation anchored a hired banana boat at the harbour but was discovered missing the following day.
The church chairperson described the boat in question as blue and orange.
Mr Mwape said the matter has since been reported to police in the area.
Mr Mwape has since appealed to the general public to report the matter to police whenever they come across any strange boat in the area.–ZANIS
