THE Patriotic Front (PF) has urged the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) to respect court premises.
PF National Youth Chairperson, Chishimba Kambwili said the UPND should instil discipline in the youth and avoid being violent when they escort their leaders to court.
Mr Kambwili who is Youth and Sport Minister charged that the opposition party was losing popularity because of the unruly behaviour of its youth and encouraged them to be civil.
He said the behaviour of the cadres who were recently injured at the Magistrate Court complex in Lusaka was aimed at provoking the ruling party but that the PF would not respond as it had disciplined cadres.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka yesterday, the Minister said the UPND would be worse if elected into power as they were currently failing to observe court rules.
“This is the second time the court has adjourned one of the cases HH is facing in court because of the way the cadres conduct themselves, this never happened when we were in the opposition. The PF is a law abiding party,” he said.
He called on the police to stop the lawlessness and strongly condemned the fracas that took place on Friday at the Lusaka Magistrate’s courts.
Commenting on the Constitution Mr Kambwili said Government would not spend colossal sums of money for a Referendum but instead continue using the money for developmental projects.
He said the PF had delivered on campaign promises to improve the livelihoods of citizens such as job creation, putting more money in peoples’ pockets.
