FROM CHISHIMBA CHISHIMBA, Trou Aux Biches, Mauritius-
BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Worldwide Vice-President Joel Churcher says his organisation will continue to roll out top quality brands in 52 countries and maintain its footprint of being content company.
Mr Churcher told journalists attending the MultiChoice Africa content showcase that BBC has continued to improve content on the entertainment and other channels in order to sustain the audience which has been growing over the years on DStv.
He said there were correspondents in many parts of the world covering news while other brands such as ‘Strictly come Dancing,’ had continued to improve.
Mr Chercher said BBC had also ensured that African content was improved to sustain the audience and that cultural patters were taken into consideration.
He said being an international channel, BBC continued to offer appropriate content and would not restrict itself to British programmes.
Entertainment programmes, he said, cut across cultural patterns in as many countries as possible.
At the same occasion, A + E Network Vice-President Heather Jones said Crime and Investigation had been a reliable channel because of the in-depth reporting about crime and how security officers investigate serious crime stories.
She said although crime stories may instill fear, the audience was still large and kept on growing because of captivating nature of reporting even from the crime scene.
MultiChoice Zambia acting public relations manager Mumbi Mutale is coordinating matters relating to the Zambia delegation  which arrived here on Monday.
During the occasion, Multichoice Africa welcomed some of Africa’s known celebrities, media and content owners and providers to the Island nation at the event  dubbed Africa’s Biggest Content showcase.
Some of the leading networks such as the BBC, Channel O, and Supersport among others showcased their brand to the hundreds gathered at the Trou Aux Biches Resort & Spa venue.
A leading digital pay television operator in Africa, Multichoice Africa offers digital multi-platform, multi-channel television entertainment.
The company stands on a proud legacy that has been built by delivering the highest quality of local and international channels on its DStv and GOtv platforms.
