‘MAGNIFICENT’ Kabwe Warriors yesterday produced an outstanding performance as they claimed maximum points off Zesco United in the MTN-FAZ Premier Division League Week 15 fixture at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.
A 56th minute looping header by forward Brian Mwila was all the home side needed to record their second victory under the tutelage of coach Mohammed Fathy as George Lwandamina’s men suffered their second defeat this season.
The game started on a high note with both teams creating scoring chances but it was the visitors who had the best opportunity on target through Jackson Mwanza, whose 25th minute weak shot was easily dealt with by alert shot stopper Lawrence Mulenga.
Lameck Kafwaya also missed a flurry of chances for the railmen before Mwila snatched a winner and Mwanza could have restored parity in stoppage time but Mulenga was equal to the task of keeping a clean sheet for the home team.
Warriors, who still remain hovering in the relegation zone, moved a place up into 14th with 13 points while Zesco maintained their second spot on 30 points.
