TALKING SHOP 3THE wholesale price of eggs has risen by five per cent, with further
increases expected by market players as temperatures continue to fall.
A tray of eggs, which was recently selling at K18 has risen to about
K20 with producers attributing the rise to low production due to
falling temperatures and an increase in production costs.
The production of eggs is only expected to increase around September
with the onset of the hot season as coldness also increases input
costs since farmers have to invest more in electricity or other
sources of energy, with a ripple effect on the prices.

THERE is still need for management of chain stores in particular to
monitor the attitude of their employees towards customers.
A case in point is the Pick n Pay outlet in Luanshya where people who
serve in the food section tend to be rude to customers, especially
during peak hours when there is a lot of pressure.
A customer care training session should probably be incorporated in
the orientation so that employees are sensitised on how to attend to
customers under pressure.
