NCHANGA Rangers president Blackwell Siwale has backed coach Fighton Simukonda to turn around the struggling clubs fortunes.
Rangers, who finished third under Simukonda in the 2013 season, are currently struggling and hovering in mid-table in the 2014 MTN-FAZ Premier League campaign.
Siwale said in an interview that Rangers would not be relegated despite the Chingola sides poor run of results.
“On Mr Simukonda, if you understand his job or any other person in his business, is that if you don’t have the rightful tools to operate a particular assignment how will you manage?” Siwale said.
Siwale said the pre-season player exodus plus the departure of their loan signings in the 2013 campaign had hurt the Chingola clubs’ 2014 plans.
Rangers are currently ninth on the MTN/FAZ Super League table with 22 points from 19 matches played.
“You have to appreciate that we lost nine players at the start of the season and we went through a rebuilding process which is now paying off in the second half of the season the second half of the league.
“We brought in young players and they are now blending in with the experienced legs,” Siwale said.
Meanwhile, Siwale revealed that assistant coach Albert Kachinga has left with the clubs full blessings to join Red Arrows in the same capacity.
“Albert Kachinga has left with our blessings, he didn’t resign as such when he was having meeting with Arrows, it was with our full knowledge,” Siwale said.
