WOMEN should actively apply for funding in order to come up with income generation projects instead of waiting to be approached by Government and other organisations.

Deputy Minister for Community Development, Mother and Child Health, Dorothy Kazunga, said this when she called on the Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela in Ndola.

Ms Kazunga said women should seek funding for income generating projects that would help them have a better life, instead of them waiting to be approached with funding.

She said women groups should take advantage of the funds which were being provided for by the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health.

Ms Kazunga said she was in Ndola to tour women groups that had been founded under the ministry which were considered to be community- projects, where women were empowered so that they could make their lives better.

“I am here to meet women groups who have been funded under the Ministry of Community Development and also the women that have not yet received funding because these projects are very important in women empowerment,” she said.
