The refining of silver is a long process of heating the metal until all the imperfections have boiled out. Once the silver is cooled, it is then re-heated again to remove any other imperfections. This process is repeated until there are no signs of anything that isn’t the precious metal.
God uses things in our life, good and bad, to form us into the person he wants us to be, and be refined in His image. Just like Psalm 66:10-12 states, “He’s refined us like silver…but he’s brought us to the place of abundance”
One of the greatest truths I ever learned was that money is in abundance, that there is more than enough that exists for us all.
However, to acquire it, one must observe and follow the laws governing its acquisition and retention.
Firstly, money always flows from a position of less value to a position of more value. Simply put, when something is considered valuable to the subject, they will willingly spend their money (read: allow it to flow away from them) to acquire it. Put another way, if the subject has something of value, be it a skill, ability, object or product, then money will flow toward them instead. So here we see that people will be willing to give them money in exchange for the valued object. It’s all about value.
Secondly, money tends to deteriorate if not put to work. Money must flow to grow. Another synonym for money is currency. The root word for currency is current. Currents flow. If money has to grow, it must always be flowing, that is why we speak of cash flow. Cash flow is the interaction of income and expenses over a period of time. Thus if there’s more income than expenses, its positive cash flow, if on the other hand there’s more expenses than income (which is true for themajority), then its negative cash flow. So, unless one ensures that money is put to work to multiply, it literally rots. It is also known as inflation. You beat inflation by putting money to work.
This way the Law of Abundance will work for you.
Now for some painful truths – you become wealthy because YOU choose to – This happens when you learn how to create value within your environment. The more valuable, unique and rare it is what you offer, the more people will be willing to part with their money – it will flow your way more. Take a look at your place of existence, begin to really ask yourself what it is that you can do that is unique.
In sales it is known as a USP (unique Selling Proposition). What gets you to stand out from the rest? If that is not the case, then what can you do that will make you really stand out? Therein lies your breakthrough.
You become poor because YOU choose to – poverty is a decision not to be rich! This is a painful statement. The first time I heard it frankly I was offended. The “blame” factor embedded deep within me (along with most people) started to think of excuses and reasons other than what the statement implies – that we are not rich by choice!
However, if you detach yourself from your emotions and really think that statement through, what does it imply? It implies that there is an element of choice. We choose where we go, what we do, whom we do it with and what we ignore. Choices hold our destiny. We are where we are today because of the choices we made yesterday.
So, if we choose not to pursue wealth, then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Our choices are always our responsibility. Ever heard of the saying that if we are willing to do today what others are not, then we will have tomorrow what others will not? This is true.
Most times we choose to play it safe, we choose to hang around our comfort zones and end up staying there our entire lives.
When it comes to comfort zones, they are our greatest enemy because success never dwells within them. The truth no one wants to admit except those whose mindset has been altered is that success ALWAYS lies outside our comfort zones! If we want to succeed, we will need to move outside that zone, and that is scary because we leave our places of familiarity to unfamiliar ground. That means contending with our deepest fears and the all-time question “what if it fails?” It means taking that bold decision to go where you haven’t gone before.
It entails adventure. Ever wondered why new business is also known as a “venture”? That is because it involves risk, going into sectors no one has really succeeded in at that time. However, it is where your success lies, and until you are willing to leave the safety of the shore and sail into unknown seas, you can never truly succeed.
Frankly answer this question – why aren’t you rich right now? If you are true to yourself you’ll discover the majority of the reasons are excuses! However, I have learnt that rich people, people that flow in this Law of Abundance do not make excuses; they have learnt that every failure is a lesson to success. They have learn the truth in these statements below
You can either make excuses or make money – you can’t do both! Many a man curses the rain that falls upon his head, and knows not that it brings abundance to drive away hunger. – Saint Basil Every adversity holds within it the seeds for your greatness, not your demise.
The rich have learnt that abundance comes from learning to mine your grounds, ever digging deeper into your potential, and learning to unleash it regardless of the temporal setbacks that may occur as a result of that action. Knowing that in time success is bound to come – if you do not lose heart and quit.
Let me thus close by quoting one great statement about the wealth of the United States, as said by Ayn Rand.
“America’s abundance was created not by public sacrifices to the common good, but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America’s industrialisation.
They gave the people better jobs, higher wages, and cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance- and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way.”
At no place have we seen the Law of Abundance more prominently displayed than in this great nation, and it is this author’s belief that there is no exception for us save what we decide to do. The abundance we see there is also possible here, if only we can learn to tap into that great lavish potential lying within us.
