Daily Mail offices burgled

THIEVES yesterday broke into the Zambia Daily Mail (ZDM) Kitwe offices and got away with office equipment worth thousands of Kwacha.
The offices are situated at David Mwila house owned by the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ).
The items that were stolen included a 32 inch Samsung television set and three Central Processing Units (CPU) computers.
MUZ Chief Security officer Misheck Mafinge where ZDM offices are
housed confirmed the robbery which occurred between 02:00 and 03:00 hours yesterday.
Mr Mafinge said he noticed that the entrance to ZDM offices were open around 04:00 when he was conducting a routine check.
“We discovered the incident in the morning at around 04:00 hours and some of the property worth thousands of kwacha has gone missing,”he said.
Mr Mafinge said it was the second time thieves had broken into the ZDM Kitwe offices and getting away with computers, a television set and laptops.
He said police officers had visited the crime scene and investigations were underway.
