THE Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) wants former Chipolopolo coach Patrice Beaumelle to lead its women soccer team to the Namibia 2014 Africa Women Championship slated for October.
Ivory Coast is in Group A along with the Shepolopolo, hosts Namibia and eight time champions Nigeria.
Beaumelle is very familiar with Shepololpolo after training the team during his tenure as Chipolopolo coach between October, 2013 and August 2014.
The Frenchman confirmed in an interview from Abidjan that the FIF had requested him to join Clementina Toure on her bench.
“FIF asked me to go with the girls, I don’t know yet. Maybe I will be in Namibia, maybe not,” Beaumelle said.
Beaumelle is Ivory Coast assistant coach under Elephants and ex-Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard.
Shepolopolo and Ivory will clash in their final Group A match on October 17 at a tournament that will see Zambia making its debut at the African Women Championship that will run from October 10-25 in Windhoek.
