KILL that speculation! It is now official that Zambia’s award-winning and much loved Hip hop star, the Kopala Swag crooner Macky 2 is one of Zambia’s contestants in this year’s season 9 of Big Brother Africa Hot Shots.
At least this leaves part of the question as to who Zambia has sent answered from a myriad of fans of this spectacular Africa’s most watched reality show.
But wait! Speculation is not yet over! There is more impending surprise from Big Brother as he has decided to keep the name of the other Zambian envoy close to his chest for now.
Who is it??Former well-loved Zambian envoy Sulu says Macky 2 has taken a very wise and clever step to enter the Big Brother House.
He says the Big Brother platform will be a great advantage for his music to go to another level.
“Let’s unite and support Macky 2 who in my view is a perfect candidate for Zambia. Let’s not dwell on the negatives of people. It’s time to unite as Zambia and fight for our second win. If Nigeria can win it three times, what can stop Zambia from winning again?” says Sulu.
Sulu believes that with the Big Brother exposure, Macky 2 would be one of Africa’s ‘untouchable’ hip hop stars.
Cleo the Ice Queen also former Big Brother Housemate, who actually happened to be the fourth musician after Mampi, Talia and Tamara to enter the Big Brother house, is happy with the revelation and believes Macky 2 will represent Zambia very well.
“I can’t judge him on his musical background but his personality out of his profession. I have worked with Macky 2 and from what I have seen of him, he is a good person whom I believe will be one of Zambia’s best envoys,” she says.
MultiChoice Zambia public relations manager Mwiika Malindina says Big Brother is open for everyone to participate as long as he or she is a Zambian and of the legal age of 21 years and above.
“Big Brother goes with a theme every year and if you look at this year’s theme-‘Hot Shots’… surely Macky 2 is a Hot Shot, well-loved by Zambians and many African nations. So we believe he will make a good and exiting representation for Zambia,” he says.
Macky2 is a 29- year-old Hip hop musician from Luanshya in Zambia.?His favourite book is 48 Laws of Power and his top TV shows are Suits, Crisis, Game of Thrones and Idols SA.
His favourite actor is Denzel Washington, because he is able to play so many characters and bring each one to life.?Jay-Z is both his favourite musician and his role model – the latter because ‘he’s one of the most successful entertainers of our generation’.
His father has also played a huge role in Macky2’s life.?Macky 2 entered Big Brother Hotshots because he believes that ‘people naturally fall in love with my personality, so I know I stand a chance of winning that grand prize and changing my life’.
Macky2 says he won’t lose himself and what he believes in, along the way.??Describing himself as ‘a natural entertainer who’s loveable’, he says he always pushed himself and is never discouraged by setbacks.
“I’m confident and I truly believe I can do anything I set my mind to,” he says.
