HONESTY Muyupi has described his selection to represent the country at the 2014 Africa Amateur Olympia Body Building Championship to be held in South Africa as an honour.
Muyupi, who is the 2014 Mr Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) winner, said the Amateur Olympia Body Building Championship to be held on October 26 provides a good opportunity for him to showcase his skills at an international level.
He said even though the championship would be competitive, he was geared to put up a spirited fight in order to deliver for the country.
“I am very happy that I will be representing Zambia and I will now focus on training hard in readiness for the tournament,” Muyupi said.
Muyupi was picked by Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) to represent the country along with newly crowned Southern Africa Body Building champion, Sylvester Mwila.
ZBBFF vice president Brown Ng’ambi said in an interview yesterday that Muyupi will represent the country in the middleweight category.
Ng’ambi said the federation had decided to send the two bodybuilders for the tournament owing to financial challenges.
“We have picked Honesty, who was the runner-up at the Southern Africa Contest in the middleweight category to compete in the same weight at the Africa championship.
We have confidence in the two musclemen that they will deliver for the country and so we are planning that they go into camp at least two weeks before the championship for them to adequately shape up,” Ng’ambi said.
Ng’ambi said the ZBBFF was still scouting for K25, 000 to send the two musclemen for the championship.
