THE Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ) has praised the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and Pangea Securities for plans to host the forth coming International Zambia conference as this will showcase business opportunities the country offers in the various economic sectors.
EAZ president Isaac Ngoma said the conference would have a positive impact on the country’s investment profile because it would woo more investment.
ZDA and Pangaea Securities would be co-hosting the conference aimed at exploring the massive investment opportunities in Zambia.
“It is expected that this will excite local entrepreneurs to take up investments in various sectors of the economy in the country,” Mr Ngoma said.
He said in an interview the conference would be a platform for possible partnerships and joint ventures between Zambia and foreign investors adding this would place Zambia highly on the international market for increased investment.
More than 300 enterprises have confirmed participating in the conference scheduled for next month.
ZDA director general Patrick Chisanga said, along with renowned world entrepreneurs, there would be a number of existing potential investors that were expected to attending the conference.
These include Germany based company Amatheon which already has investments in Mumbwa, the International Enterprise of Singapore, Olam Singapore and Italy Real Estate Industry from Milan and Italy Cement Group among others.
During the conference ZDA is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Enterprise Singapore as a way of enhancing its partnership as regards investment and trade promotion.
