THE Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has donated books to the University of Lusaka (UNILUS) worth K9,350.
CIMA country manager Gordian Bowa presented the books to School of Business Dean Ronald Kaulule in Lusaka on Tuesday.
CIMA donated 10 copies of six notable Accounting and Finance books worth K9,350 to UNILUS following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on August 13, 2013 between the two institutions.
Mr Bowa said in the MoU CIMA and UNILUS agreed that using their unique individual strengths would work together to contribute to the training of accountants in Zambia.
“Books are an important ingredient in the learning process but their relevance lies on sound utilisation by both the students and the lecturers. Books are there to be read, internalised, understood and criticised,” he said.
Dr Kaulule said the donation signified the commitment CIMA attached to enhancing accounting training programmes in Zambia and other regions, adding that such collaboration was higly valued by UNILUS as well as strive to provide better education and learning experiences.
