THE first Zambia International Energy Conference (ZIEC) will be held in Lusaka from 25to 27 November 2014 under the theme “Power and Energy: Unlocking Zambia’s Investment Potential at 50”.
The Conference has been convened by the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Development, Stanbic Bank, Zesco, Energy Regulation Board (ERB) and the Rural Electrification Authority (REA).
According to a statement released by KPR consulting on behalf of Stanbic Bank yesterday, the conference will bring together policy makers, financiers, regulatory authorities, investors, media and other key players in the sector.
“The conference will among other issues look at investment and financial challenges being faced in the implementation of power and energy projects and map way forward,” read the statement.
In addition, it will create a platform for increased interaction among stakeholders in the energy sector with the purpose of disseminating information on Government policy, showcasing potential and on-going projects.
