A LUSAKA pastor who is alleged to have defiled a five-year-old girl of Kaunda Square One is expected to appear in court today.
Ben Chisi of Fountain of Grace Ministries in Chamba Valley had his bond revoked by the police after the neighborhood protested over his release.
He is alleged to have defiled the girl after showing her pornographic material on his phone.
Police had to re-arrest Chisi whom they had given bond after residents protested against his release and is being detained at Chelstone Police Station.
Zambia Police acting spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said in an interview yesterday that Chisi is expected to appear in court today.
Mr Hamoonga said that Chisi was charged with defilement but was, however, re-arrested after an uproar from the neighborhood, where the offence is alleged to have happened.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man of Lusaka’s Mandevu Township has allegedly defiled his 4-year-old step daughter.
The man, a mechanic, is alleged to have defiled the girl while the mother was cleaning their yard.
Defilement carries a minimum sentence of 15 years under the Zambia laws.
