MATERO Member of Parliament (MP) Miles Sampa has said he is still making frantic efforts to meet with all party senior officials and members in order to unite and move in one direction.
Mr Sampa said he had spoken to his counterpart, Justice and Defence Minister Edgar Lungu, and was only waiting for the duo and other party officials to meet and dialogue.
“Dialogue is the only solution, you cannot go it alone in PF. It is a party founded on people’s wishes and we need each other if one is to achieve that. Let us reconcile because this is what the nation expects from us,” Mr Sampa said.
Speaking to journalists, Mr Sampa, who was flanked by Mr Mwamba and suspended secretary general Bridget Atanga, said seeing members unite would bring relief to the party and the nation.
Agriculture Minister Wylbur Simusa said he was disappointed that the party had lost an opportunity to get united at the just-ended general conference.
Meanwhile, Youth and Sport Minister Chishimba Kambwili has asked Catholic Bishops to help bring reconciliation in the Patriotic Front (PF) and the meeting has been arranged for today.
Mr Kambwili said at a media briefing that the reason for asking the church to intervene is purely based on the fact that PF was in Government and that whatever happened in the party had the potential to plunge the country into chaos.
“I have asked the Catholic Bishops to broker reconciliation and this meeting has been set for tomorrow (today) at seventeen hours,” he said.
