STANDARD Chartered Bank has been named ‘Best Bank in Zambia’ by three awarding bodies.
Standard Chartered Bank Zambia was awarded as ‘Best Emerging Markets Bank and Best Consumer Internet Bank in Zambia’ by the Global Finance.
The award was given by Euro-Money, the Financial Times Banker and the EMEA Finance African Banking Awards.
During the vice president’s 50th Independence Anniversary Awards held in Lusaka in October, Standard Chartered scooped the ‘Oldest Bank in Zambia’ award.
Commenting on the awards, Standard Chartered Bank Zambia, managing director, Andrew Okai described the awards as a break-through for the institution.
“We are very proud to have won these accolades this year. Zambia is the only African market where Standard Chartered is consistently ranked first. I would like to thank all our customers for their continued commitment and confidence in our brand,” he said.
As we reflect on the journey Zambia has travelled for the past 50 years, we take cognisant that Standard Chartered has been and continues to be a key ally in the country’s financial, economic and social development every step of the way.
Our strategy remains consistent which is to bank the people and companies driving investment, trade and the creation of wealth across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, to be here for good,” Mr Okai said.
