BRIEF-CASETHE vandalising of some bridges and other installations on some roads whether politically motivated or not, is an act of primitivism, which is taking the country backwards.
These public installations serve all citizens and there is no need for individuals – regardless of the motives – to vandalise them or remove them for personal and selfish use.
Above all, the government spends a lot of funds to install these facilities in the hope that the members of the public will utilise them for development.

Lusaka ring road a masterpiece

STILL on public facilities, the newly-commissioned Lusaka ring road is a marvel to drive on and is an example of the meaning of infrastructure development.
The road is well done with relevant and modern markings, traffic rights and it would be important to ensure regular maintenance so that its condition does not become poor.
People residing on areas along the road and motorists should also guard this development masterpiece jealously against vandals and other malicious people who would want to vandalise some of the facilities.
