FORMER international striker, Festus Mbewe and midfielder Francis Simwanza have ditched record 12-time league champions, Nkana for 2005 winners, Red Arrows.
Joining Mbewe and Simwanza at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka is Roan United skipper, Arthur Kaseloki.
Since the 2014 MTN Premier Division League went on recess, clubs have been busy on the transfer market with Arrows, who survived relegation, trying to boost the squad for this year’s campaign.
According to impeccable sources yesterday, Arrows coach Albert Kachinga secured the signatures for Mbewe, Simwanza and Kaseloki last month.
But Nkana spokesperson, Cephas Sinyangwe could not confirm or deny Mbewe and Simwanza’s departure but said a couple of players had left Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Since the close of the season, Nkana, the 2013 league champions, have lost several players to other clubs.
Chipolopolo defender, Christopher Munthali trekked back to his parent club Power Dynamos, Derrick Mwansa also returned to Nkwazi enroute to Power just like Kelvin Mubanga is headed to Arthur Davies Stadium.
Claude Bwalya, Masautso Phiri and Masautso Zimba have also left Nkana Stadium.
Nkana talisman Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba, who has attracted interest from South African and Egyptian clubs, may also leave after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
