CHIPOLOPOLO midfielder Nathan Sinkala has received an offer to stay at Swiss club Grasshopper while an unnamed Chinese club is chasing his services.
Meanwhile, striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba’s debut for Wadi Degla SC ended in defeat following a 2-1 loss suffered at the hands of Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier league on Wednesday night.
Sinkala has just completed a six-month loan stay at Swiss club Grasshopper whom he joined from TP Mazembe last July.
The Chipolopolo vice captain disclosed in an interview yesterday that his decision was being hampered by his recent injury setback.
“I am pushing to go to China or going back to Switzerland. But the problem is the club’s want to know how long I will be out. Both clubs want to sign me on a long-term contract,” he said.
Sinkala is halfway through a four-week layoff after suffering a knee injury in the Chipolopolo’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B match against DR Congo on January 18 in Ebebiyin.
The midfielder limped off in the 85th minute of that game and was replaced by defender Christopher Munthali in a match that ended 1-all.
Meanwhile, Sinkala revealed that he was seeing a specialist this week in South Africa over his injury.
“I am going to Johannesburg tomorrow (today) to see a doctor over the injury,” Sinkala said.
In Egypt, Kampamba, who signed a three-and-a-half-year deal last week, made his debut playing for 90 minutes before he was substituted in extra time and was replaced by Mohab Saeid.
The match played at the 30 June Air defence Stadium in Cairo saw Degla take the lead through Stanley Ohawuchi in the 73rd before the visitors scored twice in extra time to record the victory through Abdul Aziz Emam and Mohammed Ragab.
The defeat left Degla stuck in fourth place on the log with 32 points but now trail leaders Zamalek by 12 points.
Kampamba, who was part of the Chipolopolo squad at the 2015 Chipolopolo AFCON squad in Equatorial Guinea, has been nominated for the 2014 MTN-FAZ Premier League Footballer-of-the-Year where he will battle it out against Zesco United striker Jackson Mwanza for the top award.
