ALL except one position will be up for grabs today when Nakambala Leopards Football Club holds its elective annual general meeting in Mazabuka.
Club secretary Sam Mandunga said yesterday that all the positions except for the vice treasurer will be up for grabs as 17 members vie for various positions in the executive committee.
Lloyd Shanzuwa faces no election after going through unopposed as vice treasurer while Zambia Sugar Company, sponsors of the club, have the prerogative to appoint the treasurer, the position currently held by Henry Mambwe.
Chairperson Lloyd Mwale is being challenged by Philemon Mbewe, who at one time acted in the position when the former and his committee were dissolved in 2012 while vice chairperson Augustine Siangandu is being challenged by Jon Nindi and former secretary Obet Habasimbi.
Mandunga is re-contesting his position and looks set to go unopposed as a candidate, whom he refused to name, needed some technical issues to be addressed before he could be allowed to stand.
Former committee member Oscar Chanda is challenging incumbent Alex Nyirenda for the position of vice secretary.
Committee members Clement Gumbo, Kalunga Milimo and Bernard Kalyata face opposition from six members eyeing their positions. These are Roderick Kabunda, Kalembwe Kwalombota, Lubinda Saboyi, Samson Mchilwa, Philip Mwakibinga and Chalama Nyanga.
