HELLO, hope you are doing all right and keeping safe in this weather.
The past few days have been quite chilly, I think it is safe to say that this year’s cold season looks set to be freezing.
So, stock up on warm clothes and trendy coats, now is the best time to buy some before they get expensive.
Today we look at some new makeup techniques.
GlamourHands up if you also haven’t perfected the art of drawing a perfect cat eye (like me), it’s a little hard at times isn’t it?
Musician Taylor Swift (the queen of cat eyes) shared her tip for getting a good, straight line:
“Instead of worrying about flicking out from the top lash line, follow the bottom lash line up with an eye pen This ensures you get the perfect angle for your cat eye.”
Needless to say that I will be practicing my perfect feline look.
Use concealer before foundation.
Always use concealer before foundation, because concealer is meant to ‘conceal’ imperfections while foundation creates an even complexion.
So first wash your face, apply some moisturiser , unless your concealer is a BB cream, apply concealer on any discoloured areas , wait a few minutes for it to settle then foundation and blend it into nothing for a natural look.
Always allow about two fingers from your nose to where blush starts, that is put two fingers flat with the nail on the bridge of your nose diagonal.
To make you manicures last longer; beautyhigh.com advises;
“To make your manicure last, apply a thin layer of clear every two days. Pay particular attention to the free edge at the top of your nails, where chips usually happen, and apply extra clear polish there.”
I am a little obsessed with high cheekbones (confession) and I have been frantically (ok I exaggerate a little) been researching how to achieve the high chiselled cheekbone look.
Beautifully Healthy Logo“To make your cheek bones appear higher, use bronzer under the cheekbone and highlighter on the actual cheekbone, and remember to blend.” according to beautyhigh.com
Liquid Eyeliner is an absolute godsend (if you know how to use it) and a nightmare if you don’t know how to use it or your hands are unsteady.
Heres a little secret, keep a sharp eyebrow, or eyeliner pencil and dip it in Vaseline or coconut oil and line it around your eyes for a smooth finish.
Agony (or rather extreme agony) is suddenly getting a pimple the night before a grand event, dab some tree oil to the spot to fake clear skin and drink lots of water as sometimes stress causes dehydration, which in turn punishes your skin.
For that perfect pout Katrina Barrion, makeup artist for Giella Custom Blend Cosmetics says ;
“Take a shimmery gloss to the center of your lips, top and bottom – this will attract light to your lips, making them look pouty.”
Just ensure that you blend it in so that you don’t look like you have spots of lip gloss added by accident on your lips.
Speaking of lips, I know some women are afraid of wearing red lipstick because they feel irs too daring but here is what you can do.
Put it on and then blot it off with some tissue so that it appears more as a stain (emphasis on blot ladies please don’t wipe you can also apply it with your finger if you are avoiding an intense look.
The www.dailymakeover.com suggests that if;
“You have applied eye shadow that is a little too intense, don’t remove, just dip a shadow blender brush in bronzing powder, and sweep across the entire lid. The bronzing powder will work like a neutral tint, so it will diffuse and soften the color without changing it too radically.”
