By MOSES CHIMFWEMBE –

THE Zambia Boxing federation (ZBF) has appointed John ‘The Hammer’ Chibuta as new Under-20 boxing national team coach.
Chibuta, who is also Konkola trainer, replaces Wisdom Mweemba who has been elevated to the senior national team as assistant to Kennedy Kanyanta.
He will be assisted by Jonathan Mwila of Ndola City Council (NCC) and Richard Banda of Nakambala.
ZBF president Thomas Chileshe said yesterday that the changes were made during the annual general meeting (AGM) held in Kabwe at the weekend.
Chileshe said Chibuta was the right man for a job owing to his massive experience as a boxer and later on coach.
“Chibuta has wide experience in boxing especially his skill in talent identification at club level and we are happy that his input will add value to the young boxers,” Chileshe said.
The ZBF chief, however, sounded a warning to all national team coached that they risked being fired if they fail to produce results.
He said if Zambia fails to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the federation will not hesitate to replace the coaches.
“This time around we want results and not just mere participation and as a federation, we will not keep any coach who fails to produce positive results,” he said.
