INVESTRUST Bank Plc has introduced cardless withdrawals at its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), under the bank’s InvestMobile
platform.
The feature enables customers on the InvestMobile platform to be able to draw cash from the Bank’s ATMs without having to use their VISA GreenCard or InvetGo and the PayEasy debit card.
Bank spokesman Ackim Mwale said in a statement that the Cardless withdrawal feature on InvestMobile is another Investrust Bank Plc innovation aimed at meeting the needs of customers.
The convenience of this feature is that ATM withdrawals will not only be dependent on the use of the cards at Investrust Bank Plc ATMs.
“You may for some reason have left your card at home. With this feature you can still make a withdrawal simply by using your phone if you are registered with InvestMobile”, Mr. Mwale said.
He said that customers could use the feature to instantly facilitate ATM withdrawals from the Bank’s ATM network throughout the country.
“For example, using the Cardless Mode, a customer can command the system to dispense cash to a recipient under the protection of a password,” he said.
In a similar development, Mr Mwale said its InvestMobile based Agency Banking initiative was taking root in the country.
He said more than 600 agents have been recruited under the programme which aims to take banking services to the community.
Mr Mwale said Agency Banking, which entails traders and business owners carrying out basic banking services from their premises through the use of mobile phones, is an initiative that the Bank considers to be “quite appropriate in achieving financial deepening inclusion in Zambia”.
He said the Bank has acquired 3,000 specially branded mobile phones that are being distributed, under special conditions, to traders and business owners that meet the criteria to represent Investrust Bank Plc as agents.
