By MOSES CHIMFWEMBE and SHAMAOMA MUSONDA –

Ndola 1 Roan 0
NDOLA United extended their winning streak to two games thanks to an emphatic win over Roan United to move into joint leadership of the FAZ Division One North league table with Kansanshi Dynamos and Chindwin Sentries.
The three teams are all tied on six points but separated by goal difference on a weekend that saw Konkola Mine Police woes deepen.
This Week Two fixture played before a fully packed Musa Kasonka Stadium in Ndola saw Green Witika score the only goal of the game, increasing his tally to two, having scored in the Week One game against Kitwe United.
Witika converted a 60th minute penalty after enterprising winger Lazarous Phiri, on loan from Ndola Youth Academy, was brought down in the box by Ben Mwanza and Kapiri Mposhi referee Victor Sikazwe did not hesitate to point to the spot.
The visibly satisfied Ndola coach Lawrence Mweemba praised his side’s resilience during the game saying the players were on course in fighting for promotion.
“I am very happy with the result, we played very well and deserved to win. The result is a boost in our quest to fight for promotion especially that we were almost relegated to division two, last season,” Mweemba said.
But Roan Coach Fordson Kabole blamed the referee for his team’s defeat.
“There was no way we could have won that game, the referee was very biased and the penalty he awarded them (Ndola United) was not genuine,” Kabole said.
Chindwin 2
CB Buffaloes 1
In Kabwe, the two Zambia Army sponsored teams Chindwin Sentries and Copperbelt Buffaloes, formerly Kalewa, locked horn but it was the Kabwe outfit that emerged victorious.
Skipper Austin Ngoma opened the score in the first half but Buffaloes pulled one back in the second half before Reuben Malango sealed victory with a clinical finish for the home side.
Elsewhere, Lloyd Alufonso scored an all-important goal as Kansanshi Dynamos maintained a winning start with a 1-0 win over Gomes to join early leaders at the top.
Konkola Mine Police suffered another setback in their bid to push for promotion as they lost 2-1 at home to FQM while a Norman Munthali’s strike saw Indeni bounce back from their 1-1 draw against Buffaloes in opening fixture, as they beat Chambishi 1-0 at home.
Mining Rangers were held to a goalless at home by Mufulira Blackpool with Kalulushi Modern Stars and Kitwe United settled for an identical result as was the case in the match between Real Nakonde and Solwezi.
Lumwana Radiants amassed three points on silver plate for a no-show Premium Sports, who are yet to kick the ball this season.
Mumbwa 1 Celtic 0
Mumbwa Medics at the weekend shot to the top of FAZ Division-One South table after a hard fought win over Kafue Celtic, who were sent crashing to the bottom of the table, after this Week Two fixture.
Medics, who earned promotion to this division last season, are sitting pretty on top with six points, having beaten Katete Rangers away and are within their rights to start dreaming of playing in the elite league debut next year.
Warriors 2
Nampundwe 1
Kabwe Warriors maintained their good start to the season with a win over Nampundwe United at home to move into joint leadership of the table Medics on six points.
Elsewhere, Zesco Shockers applied brakes on Day-One leaders Luena Buffaloes of Kaoma after drawing 1-1 to move to four points same as Prison Leopards drew 1-1 with City Of Lusaka.
Also on four points is Zesco Malaiti Rangers who beat Mongu Youth Academy 1-0 while Matero United who were 1-0 winners in a Matero derby over Lusaka Tigers with LCC joining the group after an emphatic 3-1 win over Livingstone Pirates at Maramba stadium.
Riflemen beat Kalomo Jetters 2-0 to pick up first win in the league where so far just Katete Rangers, Pirates, Mongu Youth and Celtic are yet to pick up a point.
