A Local firm based in Kabwe Central Province intends to set up a cattle ranch in Eastern Province, Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has said.
Mr Kasolo said that the investor who was engaged in agro industry wanted to extend his the business by setting up a cattle ranch with an estimated 10,000 cattle.
He said in an interview over the weekend that Paramount Chief Mpenzeni had since expressed interest in the cattle ranch investment and rendered support.
“We have a local investor who has some businesses in Kabwe who wants to set up a ranch in our province. The Chief has expressed interest with this development as this will boost economic development in the province,” Mr Kasolo said.
He said the investor intended to start with a 250 hectare land, and would expand in due course.
