SHEPOLOPOLO coach Albert Kachinga has picked 17 players ahead of Friday’s crucial Congo Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games final round return leg qualifier against Tanzania.
The Shepolopolo, who trail 4-2 from the first leg, leave for Dar-Es-Salaam today where they face an uphill battle of scoring three answered goals past Tanzania to secure a slot at the finals.
Team manager Besa Chibwe said the technical team is impressed with the players picked and was confident of qualification.
Chibwe said the players have been responding well in training and everyone was aware of the task ahead of them.
She said in an interview that the technical bench has been working on the girl’s fitness levels since they started training after they lost to Tanzania in the first leg game.
“We have been working on their fitness levels because we realised they lacked that heading into the first leg. We are happy with preparations so far and everyone looks ready and fit for the game,” she said.
The full squad has goalkeepers: Hazel Nali and Chiko Nkhoma. Defenders are Meya Banda, Annie Kibanji, Lwendo Chisamu, Rachael Nachula, Martha Tembo, Memory Mwaseba and Jane Chalwe.
Midfielders: Mary Wilombe, Joana Benai, Milika Limwanya and Ireen Lungu. Strikers: Barbara Banda, Grace Chanda, Misozi Zulu and Mary Mwakapila.
