By SANDRA MWILA –

STRIKER Alex Ng’onga is in Gabon with a possibility of signing a deal with Premier League side FC Mounana.
The Power Dynamos striker left the country on Saturday after the Gabonese outfit eliminated his Kitwe side from the 2015 Confederation Cup via a 3-4 aggregate score.
Ng’onga is said to have impressed Mounana side in the two legs he featured for Power scoring one goal during the return leg played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Club secretary Ricky Mamfunda said in an interview yesterday that Power is in talks with FC Mounana.
“Last week FC Mounana wrote to Power Dynamos to open discussions on the transfer of Alex and we are yet to clinch a deal,” he said.
Mamfunda said assertions that Ng’onga sneaked out of the country without Power’s blessings were false and only aimed a ruining the players reputation.
“Alex left for Gabon immediately after the game against FC Mounana and he has the blessings of club officials,” he said.
He said the clubs policy is to put the player’s interest first and not withholding players for the clubs benefit.
He explained that the club has an academy that grooms young players and replacements for star players can never be an issue.
“We would love our key players to stay on but the club policy is that the interest of a player is cardinal. This will not be the first time we shall be selling a key player. We sold Mukuka Mulenga to Sundown’s but manage to groom other players,” Mamfunda said.
