IDRIS Mbombo scored the only goal as Kabwe Warriors continued their push for promotion back to the Super Division League though the quality of play left the fans asking more questions than the team could provide.
Though the fans were left unimpressed with football displayed, the win kept the Kabwe side top of the FAZ Division One South log with 10 points after four matches played.
Riflemen 4 Mongu 0
Riflemen battered promotion side Mongu Youth Academy in this lope sided game that took the Arakan Barrack side to nine points and a point off leaders Warriors.
Paramilitary 1 Nampundwe 3
Nampundwe confirmed they were serious contenders for promotion to the elite league after this convincing away win at Paramilitary to stay joint-second with Riflemen on nine points.
Malaiti 3 City 1
The administrative problems at City of Lusaka are definitely manifesting on the pitch and the look to be in serious trouble as they fell to a fast improving Malaiti Rangers, who are now on fourth with eight points while City have just two points this term and placed 16th.
Other results saw Lusaka Tigers record their second straight win after beating Luena Buffaloes 1-0 at home to move to seven points, three off the pace, while at Independence Stadium, Matero United were wired 2-1 by Katete Rangers
Kafue Celtic made a disappointing trip to Kaoma where they were beaten 2-1 by a unbeaten Zesco Shockers who are now on six points while Mumbwa Medics slowed down again after drawing 1-1 at home to Kalomo Jetters as Livingstone Pirates held Prison Leopards 1-1 at home.
Kansanshi 1 Blackpool 1
In the northern league, pacesetters Kansanshi Dynamos missed an opportunity to extend the lead at the summit of the table after drawing with stubborn Mufulira Blackpool in Solwezi.
But despite dropping points, Kansanshi remained firmly in command extending their unbeaten run to four games to lead the log on 10 points, five ahead of Blackpool.
Lumwana 1 Indeni 0
Lumwana Radiants leapfrogged Indeni into second place to keep pressure on the league leaders.
Lumwana grabbed a 1-0 win to cut Kansanshi’s lead to a solitary point while Indeni dropped into joint third on seven points, same as Chindwin Sentries, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Chambishi and Gomes hit three past Ndola United in the derby which they won 3-1.
Kitwe 1 Roan 0
Roan United’s inconsistent run continued as they fell at the hands of Kitwe United to remain stuck on six points, one better than the Kitwe side.
Elsewhere, it was business as usual for Konkola Mine Police, who continued with their losing streak with the latest being a 1-0 loss at home to Zesco Solwezi to stay bottom of the table without a single point.
Copperbelt Buffaloes recorded their first victory at the expense of Mining Rangers via a 2-0 score away from home to move to four points, as Kalulushi Modern Stars got the better of FQM whom they beat 1-0 to move to six points, four off the pace.
Real Nakonde grabbed the three precious points off an inactive Premium Sports via a walkover to move to six points.
