TALKING SHOP NEW copyTalking Shop has observed with grave concern the continued tendency by some vendors in Lusaka to continue selling meat products in unhealthy conditions especially in the evening.
Various products such as fish and meat are openly sold in wheelbarrows to members of the public at varying prices.
This health hazard which buyers are being exposed to should be contained and Talking Shop is once again appealing to the Lusaka City Council to ensure that inspections are regularly and randomly conducted in the busy streets during peak hours to clump down on such dangerous trading practices.

Making payments by visa card in shopping outlets should not come as an inconvenience to customers who have hard cash and are ready to pay for their goods.
Talking Shop has noted that some supermarkets experience problems when attending to clients who are buying their goods using visa cards.
The shop attendants tend to take long to attend to these clients and causing unnecessary queues while they try to sort out the visa arrangement.
Talking Shop would like to advise supermarket management to ensure there is quick service or a special arrangement should be made to attend to shoppers who are using visa rather than allowing those with cash and those having visas to be serviced at one till.

The mushrooming ‘matebetos’ which are eating places offering a wide range of selection of meals has become a household name in many areas and should be encouraged.
Members of the public have continued to troop to various places to get a taste of the wide range of meals being offered during lunch and the prices are also affordable to many.
This entrepreneurship should continue and maybe even spread to other areas or towns as those providing meals do so in a convenient manner.
